Born and raised in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, with a BA and MA from Columbia College Chicago, Erica Faye Watson is noted actor, writer, film/television director and stand-up comedian.
Her quick wit, larger than life personality and fearlessness make her a fan favorite on stage, tv, film and online.
Her acting talent has lead to principal roles in films such as Spike Lee’s ChiRaq, Chris Rock’s Top Five, Steven Soderberg’s “Side Effects” and Lee Daniel’s “Precious” She’s appeared in primetime on NBC's “Chicago Fire,” Fox’s “Empire,” TV One’s ”Love that Girl” and performed her stand up on TV Guide Network’s “Stand Up in Stilettos.”
Through her stand-up comedy, she tackles issues of size acceptance, racial & gender stereotypes and other timely issues in a hilarious way that educates as well as entertains. Her One Woman Show “Fat Bitch” has sold out New York’s Laurie Beechman Theater & The Brooklyn Museum, LA’s Comedy Central Stage at the Hudson and Chicago’s Getz Theater and Stage 773.
